Synopsis: Brazil’s Minas Gerais state is renowned for its cuisine, but each town offers its own unique flavor. Araxá, home to the 19th-century historical figure Dona Beja, embodies warmth, hospitality, and foreign influences through its traditional feijão tropeiro (a delicious, hearty stir-fried bean dish), free-range chicken, and, of course, cheese—after all, every table in Araxá is adorned with cheese, a testament to the city’s culinary heritage. Amid pots, wooden bowls, and stories of life, Our Flavor explores the kitchen’s secrets, revealing what truly sets Araxá apart.
